HCTC - Media Lab
Mae Pa, Thailand
This interior design project was built on the installations of-of HCTC (Hospitality and Catering training Center), an NGO that offers a hospitality program to underprivileged children on the Thai-Burma border.
The library is divided into three areas; reading, studying and computers. We use one main material to build all the furniture as a starting point including recycled timber coming from old dismantled pallets.
The design is approached from this constraint, all the pieces have similar sizes, one meter approximately, and they can be used from the structure of a sofa to a lamp. Despite the lower quality of this kind of timber, with the proper treatment, it can be long lasting if it's kept on an interior space.
